Publishing Date: 11.04.2024

When famous TV chef Matteo McLeish turns up at the Old Forge Café and
offers chef Charlie Hunter a place in his kitchen for the duration of Hampden
Green’s local opera festival, she thinks it’s because he rates her cooking skills. In
fact it’s because he’s heard she’s good in a crisis. The wholesome star of Nonna’s
Kitchen is being blackmailed by one of his team.

Tempted by an improbably large pay cheque and the boost to to her CV, Charlie
accepts his offer. Does the threat lie close to home, or back in Italy with
Matteo’s culinary roots? And can Charlie find the blackmailer before she’s
swept up in an avalanche of death and scandal?

If you are a fan of cosy mystery, then i got the perfect book for you! Death in Nonna’s kitchen is book 2 of Old Forge Cafe Mysteries series. The first book is Murder on the Menu and it starts with Charlie’s story and how she opens her restaurant. You can read it as a series, but can also be read as a standalone, because that’s how i did. After finishing Death in Nonna’s kitchen i will go reading the first book.

I really enjoyed reading this book, it was fast and interesting, perfect for when you need something easy to read, especially in holidays. Charlie, the main character, is my favourite! She is such a strong character, she doesn’t hide when a problem appears, she is a fighter, protective and smart.

I can’t wait to read the next book because i have a feeling this will be part of a series with Charlie solving different mysteries. Also, i need to check all the food names because everything sounds delicious! Thank you @randomthingstours and Alex Coombs for my copy in exchange for an honest review!

Alex Coombs was born in Lambeth in South London and studied Arabic at
Oxford and Edinburgh Universities. Murder on the Menu was his first book in the
new series: the Old Forge Café Mysteries. Alex lives in the Chilterns.
